Financial Officer

About the role

Mediclinic Kloof in Erasmuskloof, Pretoria, is recruiting a Financial Officer for a permanent, on-site position. The role assists in financial control and financial administration and supports the financial management processes of the hospital. There is one position open, with a closing date of 04/11/2026.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, reconcile and prepare deposits of patient administration monies received.
• Administer petty cash and the cheque book.
• Request tax invoices for sundry customers and ensure payment is received.
• Manage hospital account relationships with suppliers and administer sundry invoices for contracts and other classified expenses.
• Assist with the shopping cart function for capital procurement and perform the receiving function for capital procurement.
• Perform the buying and receiving functions for operational procurement.
• Handle disposal, transfers and scrapping of assets, and carry out asset (equipment) verification.
• Act as SAP Financial Super User.

Required profile

• Essential: Grade 12.
• Desired: certificate or diploma in management accounting, accounting or a relevant financial/business field, or a SAP accounting software qualification.
• Essential: 2-3 years' experience in a financial environment or as a financial clerk/bookkeeper.
• Desired: previous experience as a financial officer and experience in a healthcare environment.

Required skills

• SAP Accounting Software and SAP Financial Super User.
• Patient administration programmes on the AS/400 system.
• Microsoft Office.
• Asset management, stock control, VAT invoice regulations and general financial administration (invoices, petty cash, manual cheques).
• Financial management including financial statement interpretation, budgeting, financial planning and return on investment.
