Financial Manager (Family Office)

About the role

We are looking for a self‑directed Financial Manager to lead the day‑to‑day and end‑to‑end financial operations of our Family Office. The role is fully remote, based in the Western Cape, and requires a high level of discretion, accuracy, and the ability to work independently while staying engaged with family members and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Capture daily transactions, manage journal entries and perform monthly bank and credit‑card reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Process accounts payable invoices, verify approvals, schedule electronic payments and maintain vendor relationships.
• Issue accounts receivable invoices, track receivables and follow up on outstanding inter‑company recharges.
• Monitor cash flow, forecast short‑term liquidity and execute authorized fund transfers between internal accounts, investment vehicles and personal accounts.
• Prepare month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial statements, balance sheets, income statements and management accounts.
• Maintain the general ledger, inter‑company accounts and loans across the group.
• Track investment portfolios, real‑estate holdings and private‑equity investments in coordination with external managers.
• Prepare, review and file statutory tax returns (VAT/GST, income tax, payroll tax, withholding tax) and collaborate with external tax advisors on family tax structuring.

Required profile

• Highly self‑motivated with proven ability to organise work, meet deadlines and operate without close supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to confidentiality and accurate record‑keeping.
• Clear communicator able to present financial information to non‑financial family members and senior executives.
• Adaptable to handle both routine bookkeeping tasks and complex advisory work.
