Financial Accountant – Remote (US Clients)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing South African accounting firm that supports US‑based companies. We are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to work remotely, providing bookkeeping, accounting, and financial reporting services for our US clients during US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate bookkeeping and accounting records for US clients.
• Apply US GAAP principles to ensure compliant financial reporting.
• Manage day‑to‑day client communications and maintain professional relationships.
• Reconcile accounts, review financial statements, and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable as needed.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Use QuickBooks and other accounting software to maintain client accounts.
• Collaborate with team members to continuously improve processes and client delivery.

Required profile

• BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an accountant.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proven client‑facing experience with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
• Comfortable working US time zones.
