Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team at our Stellenbosch office. The role involves managing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting audit and compliance activities within a leading wine property group.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations and month‑end journal processing on schedule.
• Calculate and process sales commissions and maintain the fixed asset register with monthly depreciation.
• Ensure statutory and tax compliance, preparing timely submissions to SARS.
• Manage stock takes, monitor inter‑location transfers, and resolve system discrepancies.
• Capture accurate forex information for review.
• Provide administrative support to the finance team, including BEE data, audit preparation, and bank communications.
• Assist with WineMS integration and timely wage processing.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles; professional qualification (PA(SA), AGA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in the wine, agriculture or FMCG sector is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Business Central, Navision or Oracle.
