Financial Accountant – Full-time, Multi-entity Finance Function

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Financial Accountant to own the finance function across several entities within a well‑established industrial business. The role is full‑time and based in Johannesburg, offering the chance to work independently while delivering accurate financial information that drives business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Manage intercompany accounts and loan balances.
• Monitor debtors, creditors and cash flow across multiple entities.
• Prepare weekly cash‑flow forecasts and support working‑capital management.
• Manage VAT submissions, reconciliations and statutory compliance requirements.
• Liaise with SARS, auditors and external accountants.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Prepare year‑end audit files and supporting documentation.
• Ensure accurate financial records, journals and reporting deadlines are met.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification (NQF 7).
• 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience within a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong financial reporting and financial controls experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Advantageous: experience with Sage SAIPA, SAICA or SAIBA registration.
• Advantageous: experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering or logistics sectors.
