About the role
The Financial Accountant will be based at the Durban head office and report to the Financial Manager. The role is responsible for the end‑to‑end financial reporting function, including management accounts, cash‑flow, foreign exchange and creditor processes.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated management accounts and monthly financial packs.
- Develop and manage budget and cash‑flow forecasts.
- Oversee day‑to‑day cash‑flow, foreign currency hedging and banking transactions.
- Lead the Creditors, Cashbook and Cash office team.
- Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and ensure general ledger integrity.
- Prepare VAT returns, ensure compliance and coordinate the annual audit.
Required profile
- B.Com Accounting (Honours/CIMA/Articles advantageous).
- 5–7 years of financial accounting experience.
- Proven team‑leadership experience.
- Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Sage Evolution (advantageous).
What we offer
- Up to R40,000 basic salary plus benefits.
