Finance Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong finance professional to lead the finance operations of a large South African distribution group. This hands‑on leadership position oversees both the debtors (accounts receivable) and creditors (accounts payable) functions while partnering closely with sales and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Debtors/Accounts Receivable and Creditors/Accounts Payable teams.
• Drive collections, manage debtor‑book and credit risk.
• Set and monitor customer credit limits.
• Collaborate with Sales on customer accounts and credit decisions.
• Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, controls and processes.
• Support management accounts preparation and audit activities.
• Mentor, develop and lead the finance team.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification or BCom Honours.
• Strong technical accounting ability.
• Hands‑on experience in debtors/AR and credit management.
• Exposure to creditors/AP processes.
• People‑leadership experience in a high‑volume commercial environment.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle or another large ERP is advantageous.
• Background in wholesale, distribution, retail or FMCG is highly desirable.
