Finance Manager – Accounting, Payroll & Shipping

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead accounting, payroll and import‑shipping functions for a dynamic client in Woodstock, Cape Town. The role combines financial reporting, treasury management and HR payroll for a team of ten staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate sales, delivery and inventory records; reconcile invoices and packing lists.
• Manage debtor collections, supplier invoice validation and monthly review of GL, trial balance, ageing reports.
• Prepare financial statements, support year‑end statutory audits and compile quarterly consolidation packs.
• Oversee treasury activities – optimise payments, minimise VAT and clearing charge retentions, and manage cash flow.
• Approve and reconcile petty‑cash transactions and office expenses.
• Coordinate shipping documentation, costs and liaison with clearing and forwarding agents.
• Handle HR administration, payroll for ten employees and contract management.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant or Finance Manager.
• Proven experience with SAGE accounting software.
• Experience in shipping, imports or clearing & forwarding is a plus.
