Finance Controller – South Africa

About the role

The Finance Controller will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis for the South African operations. This role ensures reliable margin analysis, budgeting, and compliance with group and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform margin analysis and produce monthly business margin reports with correct inventory valuation.
• Prepare monthly customer and site profitability reports.
• Review price updates and discounts for accuracy and competitiveness before system entry.
• Execute daily controls, weekly volume flash reports, and bi‑weekly flash reporting.
• Ensure timely and accurate country financial results reporting, including full P&L, line‑of‑business and FX reviews.
• Prepare monthly reporting packs for performance reviews and explain P&L elements.
• Review fixed costs by account and cost centre to ensure budget compliance.
• Develop three‑month rolling cash flow in collaboration with treasury.
• Lead ad‑hoc analysis and support business decisions.
• Prepare annual P&L budget, strategic plan, and capex budget, and manage bi‑weekly capex calls.
• Ensure adherence to procurement procedures and accurate capex reporting.
• Perform business case analysis (P&L, DCF, IRR).
• Comply with group, statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including tax reporting.
• Assist in internal and statutory audits and enforce control frameworks.
