Experienced Silo Manager

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on, experienced Silo Manager to oversee the full operational management of a key grain silo facility for neXgro Grain Management, a leading agricultural storage and logistics provider in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day silo operations including intake, grading, storage and dispatch of grain.
• Ensure accurate grain classification and grading according to SAFEX and company standards.
• Conduct regular inspections, quality checks, and implement fumigation, aeration and temperature monitoring programmes.
• Supervise and train silo staff, enforce OHS standards and maintain safety compliance.
• Maintain and reconcile stock records and oversee equipment maintenance schedules.
• Prepare operational reports and communicate performance, risks and stock movement to regional management.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• 3–5 years’ experience in silo or grain handling management.
• Proven knowledge of grain grading, quality control and storage systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends during peak harvest periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using silo management systems.
• Familiarity with weighbridge software.
