Experienced Senior External Auditor – Cannabis Industry (EU Passport Required)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior In‑Charge External Auditor with deep experience in the cannabis sector to join SAPRO on a six‑month international contract. The role is remote, with required onsite travel to Germany and Switzerland, and will focus on complex IFRS group audit engagements for a global client.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end audit engagements, planning budgets, resources and timelines.
• Oversee fieldwork, coordinate deliverables from multiple team members and ensure high‑quality audit files.
• Prepare financial statements, disclosures and audit reports in accordance with IFRS.
• Review workpapers, monitor productivity and adherence to the audit work plan.
• Collaborate with international audit teams across Europe and provide guidance on methodology and systems.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA(SA), CA(Z), ACA, ACCA or CPA.
• Minimum 5 years external audit experience, with at least 2 years leading audit teams.
• Demonstrated external audit experience within the cannabis industry.
• Valid EU passport and ability to travel to Germany and Switzerland for several weeks.
• Reliable high‑speed internet and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced international environment.
