About the role
We are looking for an energetic, creative and highly organised Entertainment & Activities Manager to lead the planning and delivery of the property’s entertainment, recreational activities and guest experiences. The successful candidate will own the activities programme, ensuring it is engaging, well organised, professionally delivered and suitable for a diverse range of guests.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and oversee daily, weekly and seasonal entertainment and activities programmes.
- Develop a varied and engaging programme suited to different guest profiles and age groups.
- Coordinate games, competitions, live entertainment, performances and recreational activities.
- Source and coordinate entertainers, performers, activity providers and facilitators.
- Manage entertainment and activities schedules, including special events and peak periods.
- Brief and supervise entertainers, facilitators and activities staff.
- Recruit, train, schedule and oversee team members where applicable.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security and other departments.
- Ensure activity areas, venues and equipment are prepared, safe and fit for use.
- Maintain equipment and resource inventories and report any damage or safety concerns.
- Monitor guest feedback and participation levels and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage suppliers and external service providers, ensuring professional standards are maintained.
- Assist with budgeting, quotations, expenditure and cost control.
- Ensure appropriate health, safety and risk procedures are followed for all activities.
- Maintain accurate schedules, records and reports and communicate programme changes effectively.
Required profile
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- 3–5 years’ experience in entertainment, activities, recreation, events, hospitality or a similar environment.
- Experience managing guest activities or entertainment programmes.
- Previous supervisory or management experience advantageous.
- Experience coordinating entertainers, performers, activity providers or suppliers.
- Previous experience in a hotel, lodge, resort, leisure or entertainment environment advantageous.
- Strong guest engagement and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication abilities.
- Good understanding of health, safety and risk management.
- Computer literate with good administrative and reporting skills.
- Valid driver’s licence advantageous.
