Enrolled Nurse – Orthopaedics

About the role

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse – Orthopaedics at Life Faerie Glen Hospital in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the nurse will deliver uncompromising quality care in line with company objectives and health‑nursing legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in quality programmes, complete monthly evaluator cards and attend ward meetings to ensure compliance with quality management standards.
• Maintain infection‑control and safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Manage stock administration, report patient discharges or transfers accurately, and ensure equipment is used and maintained correctly.
• Provide patient‑centred care by following nursing care plans, monitoring hygiene, fluid intake and supporting surgical and diagnostic procedures.
• Work flexible shifts to minimise agency costs and assist other departments when needed.

Required profile

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse with current SANC registration.
• Experience in spinal or orthopaedic nursing is an advantage.
• Ability to work shift patterns as required by the hospital.
• Computer proficiency is desirable.
