Enrolled Nurse - Neonatal ICU

About the role

Mediclinic Midstream in Centurion, South Africa is recruiting one Enrolled Nurse for its Neonatal ICU. The position is permanent and on-site, and the main purpose is to deliver safe, quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence
• Ensure that all used stock and equipment are accurately charged

Required profile

• Essential: Enrolled Nurse certificate; no minimum experience required
• Desired: 1 year of post-qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
• For specialised wards, CPD courses in a specific specialty area are desired
• All applicants are considered, with preference given in line with the Employment Equity Plan and to internal applicants who meet the minimum requirements

• Basic life support training
• Infection prevention and control
• Pharmacology
• Scientific nursing principles and processes, nursing care plans and risk identification
• Patient assessment skills and nursing procedures
• Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
