Enrolled Nurse - Medical 3 High Care

About the role

Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital, advertised through Lenmed, is looking for an Enrolled Nurse for its Medical 3 High Care unit in Lenasia, Johannesburg. The nurse provides safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and delivers direct and/or indirect nursing care by assessing, planning, executing and supervising care to meet patients' needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patients' care
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment free from medicolegal hazards
• Promote patients' health and wellbeing
• Attend handover of reports at the start of each shift
• Take part in the ward/unit quality improvement programme
• Communicate effectively with patients about their care
• Refer all patient complaints to the Sister-in-Charge of the unit
• Carry out departmental duties assigned by supervisors and complete delegated tasks on time

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse
• Compliance with the SANC code for Enrolled Nurses and applicable health care legislation
• 1-2 years of working experience in a medical high care unit
• Flexible availability for working hours and shifts
