About the role

Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its PICU, advertised through Lenmed. The nurse provides safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and delivers direct and/or indirect care to patients or groups of patients, assessing, planning, executing and supervising care. The closing date is 29 October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care according to the Scope of Practice and take full responsibility for these activities.
• Communicate effectively with doctors about patient requirements and with patients about their care.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients and promote their health and wellbeing.
• Attend shift handovers and audit health records to ensure compliance.
• Maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.
• Ensure all stock is well controlled, managed, charged and credited appropriately.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience working in a paediatric ICU.
• Capacity to implement and maintain health practice standards required by accredited bodies and health legislation.
• Flexibility to work varying hours and shifts.
