Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary - Theatre

About the role

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary in the theatre department at Life Bay View Hospital, reporting to the RN Lettie Swanepoel, Theatre Unit Manager. The successful candidate assists the surgical team in performing surgical procedures and ensures patients receive optimal care in line with the company and hospital strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate charging by managing theatre clocking time
• Ensure consignment stock, equipment and prosthetics are charged according to policy
• Manage stock through regular stock taking and control of consignment stock in line with hospital policy
• Manage the usage and care of equipment
• Ensure use of personal protective clothing and compliance with ISO requirements
• Ensure medical waste is disposed of to control infection
• Adhere to sterility principles
• Maintain good relationships with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the unit manager

Required profile

• Qualification as an Enrolled Auxiliary Nurse and registration with SANC
• Relevant experience to meet the critical outputs
• Own transport is essential
• Ability to work flexible hours according to hospital operating needs
