Engineering Manager

About the role

The client is a reputable mining operation seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities for underground projects in the Free State. You will be responsible for ensuring engineering excellence, safety compliance, and efficient delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering teams across mechanical and electrical disciplines for underground mining operations.
• Develop and oversee engineering designs, analyses, and performance tracking tools.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior engineers and specialists.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) – Mines and Works.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the mining sector, with substantial leadership in underground operations.
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering body.
