Employee Relations Specialist

About the role

RCL Foods, a leading South African food manufacturer, is seeking an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist for its Groceries Division. Based in Randfontein, you will report to the HR Director and provide expert guidance on all employee relations matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise managers and employees on ER issues, ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies.
• Support investigations, resolve complex complaints, grievances and disciplinary cases.
• Participate in union consultations, negotiations and maintain constructive union relationships.
• Coach and train line managers on ER practices, conflict resolution and people management.
• Collaborate with HR and Legal to ensure consistent legislative compliance.
• Represent the company in external dispute resolution forums such as the CCMA or Bargaining Council.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of all ER cases and compile ER metrics.
• Promote a positive work environment through proactive ER interventions.

Required profile

• Degree or B‑Tech in Human Resources (Honours in Labour Law advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of ER/HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating in a unionised organisation is mandatory.
