Electrician X3 – Electrical Section (Level 07)

About the role

Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking an experienced Electrician X3 for its Electrical Section. The role involves supervising personnel, maintaining electrical infrastructure, and ensuring safe and productive operations in Meyerton.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise allocated personnel, measure work performance and enforce discipline.
• Maintain and install electrical supply, including HT and LT reticulation and new connections.
• Ensure safety of equipment, vehicles and overall site.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks as directed by management.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and N3 qualified electrician (Red Seal).
• Valid ORHVS and HV Operating Certificate and driver’s licence.
• Minimum five years of relevant electrical experience, preferably in a local government setting.
• Physically fit for strenuous work and willing to perform standby overtime.

Required skills

• Experience with underground and overhead reticulation systems.
• Certification to switch up to 132 kV and 11 kV.
• Wireman’s licence (advantageous).
• Ability to work on HT and LT electrical infrastructure.

What we offer

• Salary range R 344 064 – R 398 772 per annum (Level 07, Grade 4 Local Authority).
• Total compensation package inclusive of all benefits valued at R 533 009.56 per annum.
