General Worker – Electrical Section (3 positions)

About the role

Midvaal Local Municipality is hiring three General Workers for its Electrical Section in Meyerton, Gauteng. The positions are entry‑level and target unemployed or semi‑skilled candidates with some electrical and physical labour experience. The annual salary ranges from R166,392 to R182,280, with a total compensation package of approximately R307,561 including benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload materials and equipment using appropriate safety tools.
• Place traffic signs during excavation work near municipal roads.
• Clean work areas using brooms and manual labour equipment.
• Perform general electrical‑section labour duties.
• Follow lawful instructions from supervisors.
• Complete ad‑hoc tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 qualification.
• Approximately 1 year of relevant general work experience in an electrical section within local government.
• Ability to perform physical labour and maintain good physical health.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be bilingual.
• Hardworking and self‑disciplined.
• Residency within Midvaal Local Municipality.
