Electrical Assistant

About the role

Astral, a leading integrated poultry producer in South Africa, is seeking an Electrical Assistant for its County Fair Primary Processing Plant in Fisantekraal. The role focuses on maintaining equipment reliability and supporting the plant’s health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on processing equipment.
• Respond to unscheduled equipment breakdowns to minimise production interruptions.
• Install and maintain processing equipment, including work on weekends when required.
• Follow the 20 Keys principles and uphold general housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or N2 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance of poultry processing or rendering plant equipment is advantageous.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Hard‑working, honest, self‑motivated with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capable of working under pressure, meeting strict deadlines, and handling shift work and overtime, including weekends.
• Own reliable transport.
