DSM Global Indirect Tax Technology Manager

About the role

ABB is looking for a Global Indirect Tax Technology Manager to lead the design and implementation of indirect tax solutions across its enterprise platforms. The role is part of the Data & Systems Modernization (DSM) program and reports to the Global Indirect Tax Practice Lead. It is based in Europe and works closely with finance, IT, and transformation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the single global design authority for indirect tax across DSM, Business‑Led (BA) transformations, and core ERP platforms (SAP S/4HANA, Central Finance).
• Define and own a standard global indirect tax model covering tax codes, triggers, determination logic and data dependencies.
• Own indirect tax determination for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Intercompany processes.
• Embed indirect tax end‑to‑end across master data, procurement, order management, delivery, billing and reporting.
• Enable centralized tax decision‑making to reduce local deviations, rework and project delays.
• Partner with IS and transformation teams to design scalable, future‑proof solutions aligned with regulatory changes such as e‑invoicing and digital reporting.
• Leverage SAP DRC and Central Finance capabilities to ensure consistency and avoid bespoke solutions.
• Improve first‑time‑right outcomes, reducing audit, compliance and operational risk.
• Serve as the global point of contact for indirect tax technology across projects and operations.

Required profile

• Significant experience in indirect tax technology, ERP‑enabled tax determination or indirect tax process design, gained in‑house or in a professional services environment.
• Proven ability to lead global tax design initiatives and work across multiple business functions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and digital tax reporting.
