Domestic Lines Underwriter

About the role
Our up‑market insurance brokerage is seeking a qualified Domestic Lines Underwriter to join our team in the Johannesburg North area. The successful candidate will work independently, delivering accurate quotations and policy documents while meeting strict client turnaround expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with clients and advisers to understand risk requirements.
- Prepare and issue quotations, new policies, renewals and endorsements.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Record all underwriting details accurately in the company’s systems.
Required profile
- RE5 accreditation (RE5) and a degree or diploma, preferably with FAIS compliance (60 credits, NFQ level 4).
- Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence.
- Minimum three years of underwriting experience in a broker, UMA, administrator or insurer role.
- Proven ability to compare quotes and renewals.
- Excellent communication, client service orientation and professional work ethics.
