About the role
The Director – Payroll will define and deliver JTC's global payroll strategy, ensuring a scalable, efficient and compliant payroll operating model that supports the Group's growth, acquisitions and international expansion. The role provides strategic leadership for payroll governance, risk management, service delivery, technology optimisation and transformation across all jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi‑year global payroll strategy aligned with business growth and acquisition plans.
- Establish and maintain a scalable operating model that delivers consistency, efficiency and control across all jurisdictions.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on payroll‑related risks, opportunities and regulatory developments.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing global payroll function, including succession planning and talent development.
- Implement governance frameworks, controls and audit processes to ensure compliance with payroll tax, statutory reporting and employment obligations.
- Oversee payroll workstreams for acquisitions, new market entries and organisational restructurings.
- Develop a global payroll analytics framework to deliver workforce cost intelligence and operational performance metrics.
- Design and deliver the Group's payroll technology and automation roadmap, leveraging AI and emerging technologies.
- Manage relationships with global payroll service providers, negotiate contracts and monitor performance against SLAs.
Required profile
- 10+ years of payroll or related experience within a professional services organisation, including leadership responsibilities.
- Accounting qualification or bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR, finance or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of global payroll principles, regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams across multiple geographies and cultures.
- Robust project‑management capabilities, handling multiple initiatives and tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Experience with global payroll software and systems.
