DevOps Engineer

About the role

Altum is seeking a DevOps Engineer to build, operate, and continuously improve the platforms and delivery pipelines that support its technology environment. The role focuses on reliability, automation, and secure‑by‑design engineering across Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud services. You will partner with software, data, and IT teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own operational reliability of key platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience.
• Implement observability (monitoring, alerting, logging, dashboards) for rapid diagnosis and preventative maintenance.
• Run incident and problem management processes, including triage, root‑cause analysis, remediation, and post‑incident reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to apply SRE practices and reliability targets.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, security scanning, and deployment across environments.
• Standardise release processes with versioning, environment promotion, approval gates, rollback strategies, and verification.
• Establish engineering standards for source control, testing, deployment, and operational readiness, including playbooks and runbooks.
• Implement and maintain Azure infrastructure and platform services, using IaC (Bicep/Terraform) for repeatable provisioning.
• Manage environment lifecycle, secrets, certificates, and platform dependencies.

Required profile

• Proven experience with modern DevOps practices in the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, Microsoft 365).
• Strong background in CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, and observability.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Experience with SRE‑style reliability engineering and incident management.
• Passion for automation, security, and continuous improvement.
