Despatch Supervisor – Shift Operations Lead

About the role
The Despatch Supervisor will lead shift operations, ensuring efficient loading, dispatch and high service standards within a fast‑moving consumer goods environment. You will coordinate teams, manage truck loading, and act as the communication hub between factory, sales and distribution.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and develop a team of clerks, loaders and shunters, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Ensure timely dispatch of products by monitoring scheduling, route planning and resource allocation.
- Serve as liaison between factory supervisors, sales representatives, distribution controllers and management.
- Enforce compliance with Tiger Brands policies, BMR, FSSC 22000, EHS and EMS standards.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, prepare operational reports and handle escalated issues.
- Respond to emergencies, troubleshoot route or equipment disruptions, and optimise staff deployment to reduce costs.
- Track shift KPIs, analyse performance data and conduct Team Connect training sessions.
Required profile
- Advanced Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
- 2‑3 years despatch experience in FMCG.
- Strong supervisory and administrative skills.
