Central Distribution Center (CDC) Manager

About the role

The Central Distribution Center (CDC) Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete end‑to‑end operation of the distribution centre, ensuring timely and cost‑effective service to internal and external customers while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all distribution centre processes including receiving, put‑away, storage, picking, packing, loading, delivery, post‑delivery de‑briefing and invoicing.
• Establish and enforce procedures for stock verification, handling of stale items, inventory accuracy, inter‑warehouse transfers and replenishment.
• Control warehouse overheads, monitor and adapt KPIs, and address any deviations from targets.
• Maintain equipment safety, ensure FIFO procedures, and oversee inventory variance reporting.
• Plan and execute capital expenditures (Capex) and manage warehouse throughput and productivity.
• Secure Warehouse Management System (WMS) data integrity and accuracy.
• Optimize space utilization, minimize transit/storage damage, and ensure traceability of shipments.
• Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies and process improvements such as TPM.
• Support cost‑management projects across plant, distribution, supply chain and shipping functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing end‑to‑end distribution centre operations.
• Ability to monitor KPI performance and implement corrective actions.
• Experience with budget management and cost control within an annual operating plan.
• Knowledge of FIFO procedures and inventory variance tracking.

Required skills

• Warehouse Management System (WMS) operation and data security.
• SIPOC modelling for process definition.
• TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodology.
