Desktop Technician (10 Positions, Two-Year Fixed-Term Contract)

About the role

The City of Tshwane, in its Shared Services division (ICT Governance, Applications and Infrastructure Management, ICT Network Management), is advertising ten Desktop Technician positions on a two-year fixed-term contract. The role provides ICT functional support to computer end users within the City.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, configure and install new hardware equipment
• Perform software and hardware maintenance
• Provide efficient technical support to all end users
• Maintain an inventory of hardware devices
• Perform other technical support and administrative duties
• Investigate and resolve hardware and software faults
• Ensure that daily service-level agreements are met

Required profile

• An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (degree or national diploma) in Information Technology, Computer Science or another ICT-related field
• At least two years' experience in an ICT desktop support environment
• CompTIA A+ certification
• Criminal record check, including fingerprinting by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at the applicant's own cost
