Deputy Nursing Manager

About the role

Mediclinic Newcastle is recruiting a Deputy Nursing Manager to support the Nursing Manager in leading and coordinating safe, quality patient care. The position is on-site and permanent, with one opening. Internal employees on fixed-term contracts should apply through an external candidate profile.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Nursing Manager to deliver quality patient care in line with hospital operational goals and objectives.
• Manage patient risks to achieve patient safety according to specified clinical outcomes.
• Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks.
• Ensure optimal use of a competent, engaged workforce and other resources in line with company guidelines.
• Lead and manage direct reports.
• Build and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes.

Required profile

• Essential: professional nurse qualification with a leadership/management qualification; desired: discipline-specific qualification.
• Essential: 5 years of supervisory experience, e.g. Unit Manager.
• Desired: 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a specialised unit.

• Auditing and accreditation processes, patient complaint management, human resource processes and relevant nursing legislation
