Deputy Director – Human Resource Organisational Development (Level 11)

About the role

The Deputy Director will lead organisational development and work‑study investigations for the Department of Military Veterans, ensuring effective change management and structural reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Manage organisational development, change‑management policies and structural reviews.
• Coordinate and oversee work‑study investigations, process mapping and re‑engineering.
• Develop and maintain job evaluation processes, job descriptions and related databases.
• Provide advisory services on organisational design, cost‑effectiveness and service‑delivery improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of organisational structures and Batho Pele initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior Certificate and a recognised three‑year diploma or degree in Work‑study, Management Services or equivalent.
• Three to five years’ experience at Assistant Director level executing organisational development duties.
• Strong knowledge of government HR policies, Persal and related legislation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Persal system.
• Experience using the EQUATE job‑evaluation platform.
• Knowledge of DPSA resolutions and implementation processes.
• Ability to conduct job evaluation and develop job descriptions.

What we offer

• Annual salary ranging from R766 584 to R903 006 (Level 11, all‑inclusive).
• Probation period of twelve months with potential permanent appointment.
