Deputy Director, Fraud, Corruption & Integrity Management

About the role

The Deputy Director will lead investigations into fraud and corruption, develop prevention strategies, and promote ethical conduct within the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport. This senior position reports to senior management and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to safeguard public resources.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate all fraud and corruption allegations, conduct statement taking, evidence collection and draft preliminary investigative reports.
• Develop and implement fraud prevention and anti‑corruption strategies, conduct risk assessments and detect suspicious patterns across data.
• Prepare detection reports, manage closure of cases and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and public service regulations.
• Design and deliver educational programmes and annual awareness sessions for staff.
• Maintain the department’s fraud and ethics risk register and monitor progress of action plans.
• Manage resources, handle grievances and ensure financial disclosures are submitted in line with the Financial Disclosure Framework.

Required profile

• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Degree (NQF Level 7) in Forensic Investigation, Risk Management, Internal Auditing or Forensic Auditing.
• 3‑5 years of experience at Assistant Director level within a fraud, anti‑corruption or investigation environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GPG and GPDRT policies, relevant legislation and public service regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication at executive level, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and report‑writing expertise.
