Data Quality & Governance Team Lead (12‑month contract)

About the role

IQbusiness is looking for a Data Quality and Governance Team Lead on a 12‑month contract. The role is hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and will be based in Welgemoed, Cape Town. You will act as the guardian of core business information, ensuring Contact, Account and Application data are accurate, consistent and well‑governed across all platforms while linking Finance, Programme Management and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of Data Entry and Data Quality Operators, assign tasks, monitor SLAs and quality standards.
• Act as escalation point for complex data quality issues and cross‑system inconsistencies.
• Implement and support data governance policies for master data, acting as Data Steward for assigned domains.
• Maintain and promote the Data Catalogue, ensuring core data objects, definitions and KPIs are documented and up‑to‑date.
• Oversee accurate data entry and updates in Salesforce and other enterprise systems, performing data checks and cleaning.
• Partner with technical teams to improve automation, validation rules and data flows, reducing manual effort.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Information Management, Business Administration, Quality Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years hands‑on experience in data entry, data quality or data operations.
• At least 2 years experience in a team‑lead or supervisory role.
• Comfortable working with Excel and basic data validation techniques.
• Practical experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and knowledge of data governance concepts.
