Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased)

About the role

The Data Acquisition Specialist is responsible for defining, setting up, and ingesting external data streams required by clinical trial protocols. Working remotely, you will collaborate with data providers, clinical teams, and IT stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant data delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan set‑up activities to meet study start‑up timelines.
• Develop and maintain trial‑specific Data Transfer Agreements (tsDTAs) documenting data transfer methods, frequencies, and structures.
• Coordinate with external data providers to align on data formats, transfer mechanisms, and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Translate medical and scientific concepts into data mapping guidance using the agreed data model.
• Conduct UAT of test data transfers to verify accuracy and consistency with specifications.
• Implement and monitor data transfer mechanisms into the Clinical Data Repository (CDR) and resolve any data conformance issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing data for clinical research.
• Hands‑on experience with external data sources such as labs, ECG, imaging, biomarkers, wearables, and real‑world data.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional, global teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SDTM (Study Data Tabulation Model).
• Working knowledge of GCP and ICH guidelines.
