Creditors Clerk

About the role

The Financial department of Bravo Brands' Sleep Division in Johannesburg is looking for a Creditors Clerk to manage the accounts payable function. You will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely payments in line with company policies and VAT legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare invoices for processing, ensuring compliance with VAT legislation.
• Match invoices against purchase orders, delivery notes and GRNs, verifying quantities, quality, description and price.
• Obtain proper authorisation for invoices and debit/credit notes according to the required authority levels.
• Capture invoices accurately in the Syspro system, posting to the correct GL and vendor accounts.
• Process outgoing payments in line with financial policies and procedures.
• Reconcile supplier statements and the accounts payable ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit regular creditors’ reconciliations and reports.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain organised accounts payable files.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification; tertiary finance qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a financial environment, preferably within manufacturing.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and advanced Excel.
• Experience with the Syspro ERP system (advantageous).
• Knowledge of VAT legislation and accounts payable processes.
• Ability to reconcile accounts accurately and timely.
