Cloud Solution Architect

About the role

The Cloud Solution Architect will lead the design, implementation and governance of our enterprise cloud strategy. Working in a hybrid environment, the role ensures cloud platforms are secure, scalable, cost‑effective and aligned with business objectives. The position reports to senior management and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to drive digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise cloud architecture standards, reference architectures and governance frameworks.
• Define cloud adoption roadmaps that align with business and technology strategies.
• Design secure, highly available, and resilient cloud solutions across application modernization, data platforms, AI and digital initiatives.
• Review and approve solution designs to ensure compliance with architecture standards.
• Support migration of applications, data and infrastructure from on‑premises to cloud environments.
• Ensure cloud solutions meet security, risk, regulatory and compliance requirements in partnership with cybersecurity teams.
• Implement cloud security controls, identity and access management, encryption and network security architectures.
• Promote operational excellence through automation, monitoring, observability and FinOps cost‑optimisation practices.
• Engage with business leaders, product owners and technology partners to provide architectural guidance and present recommendations to senior management.
• Mentor solution architects and engineering teams on cloud best practices.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of proven experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect.
• South African citizenship (only citizens will be considered).
• Immediate availability or notice period up to 30 days.
• Strong experience in cloud strategy, architecture, governance and migration.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
