Clinical Technologist Intern - Cardiovascular

About the role

Medtronic is looking for a Clinical Technology Intern in the Commercial team to support healthcare professionals across South Africa. The internship gives exposure to customer support, procedure preparation and on-site education in a field-based environment. It starts in November 2026, lasts 12 months and involves field-based travel to support clinical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support commercial growth within assigned accounts and the broader territory
• Provide clinical and technical support before, during and after procedures
• Assist with case preparation, product demonstrations, installations and first-line product support, as appropriate
• Respond to technical and application-related queries from sales colleagues and external stakeholders
• Help deliver on-site education, consultation and customer follow-up while following Medtronic policies and hospital protocols

Required profile

• Final-year student (graduation expected 2026/2027) or recently graduated
• Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Technology or National Diploma in Clinical Technology, specialisation in Cardiology
• Currently unemployed, South African citizen and under 30 years old
• No previous participation in a YES programme and no current or planned postgraduate studies
• Commitment to complete the full 12-month internship

Required skills

• Clear written and verbal communication in English
• Able to travel to support customer needs
• Plus: driving licence, strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn medical technologies, proactive team player with problem-solving and organisational skills
