Chief Financial Officer – Healthcare NPO (Johannesburg North)

About the role

Step into a high‑impact executive CFO role for a respected healthcare‑focused non‑profit organisation in Johannesburg North. You will drive strategic turnaround initiatives, digital finance modernisation and ensure long‑term funding sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and execute long‑term financial strategies, overseeing budgeting, scenario planning and FP&A frameworks.
• Lead funding strategy, partnering with donors, grantmakers and strategic partners to ensure transparency and sustainable capital allocation.
• Drive digital transformation by implementing accounting systems, workflow automation and executive performance dashboards.
• Oversee annual financial statements, external audit pipelines and enforce strict risk‑governance and compliance with statutory and donor requirements.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Active CA(SA) or CIMA qualification, with completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive commercial finance experience, including hands‑on leadership in an NPO/NGO/PBO environment.
• Proven track record of leading strategic finance transformation, turnaround projects or system implementations.
• Extensive experience in donor funding engagement, grant management and NPO reporting frameworks.
• Strong commercial acumen and decisive leadership style with elite stakeholder and board presentation skills.
