Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the role

Our client, a property development company, is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their dynamic team in Stellenbosch. The CFO will lead all financial functions, ensuring accurate reporting, robust budgeting, and compliance with South African regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisions, especially for property projects and investments.
• Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with department heads.
• Monitor cash flow, manage receivables/payables and maintain sufficient liquidity for operations and project funding.
• Manage banking relationships, negotiate facilities, oversee debt covenants and coordinate loan applications and drawdowns.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CA(SA) or similar qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of senior financial management experience, preferably in property development, manufacturing or retail.
• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
