About the role
This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences by preparing meals and performing kitchen duties that meet brand standards, ensuring consistency and continuity in service.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare meals and perform kitchen duties in line with brand standards to ensure consistent, high‑quality service.
- Maintain food safety, health and safety standards and operate kitchen equipment according to manuals.
- Control costs by implementing cost‑containment measures and adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Support human‑resource functions, including training, performance tracking and compliance with company policies.
Required profile
- Grade 12 or equivalent with a recognised culinary qualification (e.g., NQF Level 4 Hospitality or Professional Cookery).
- Minimum three years’ experience in a formally brigaded kitchen.
- Ability to work long, irregular shifts, stand for prolonged periods and handle manual loads.
- Basic computer literacy, especially proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
