Casual Cashier – Eastgate Store

About the role
Dis-Chem is building a talent pool of casual cashiers for its Eastgate store in Johannesburg. Selected candidates will work part‑time at the point of sale, delivering professional customer service and accurate transaction processing.
Key responsibilities
- Process customer purchases using the Dis‑Chem POS system, handling cash, cards, vouchers, coupons and loyalty cards.
- Maintain cash‑drawer security, perform cash drops, and ensure all transaction adjustments are authorised.
- Provide product and promotion information, respond to enquiries, and forward complaints or compliments to the Frontline Supervisor.
- Scan outgoing merchandise, stock items and prescriptions accurately.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification.
- At least six months of cashier or till‑operation experience.
- Strong numerical ability and basic computer literacy.
- Good command of English and ability to meet citizenship, transport and screening requirements.
Required skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience operating cash registers and handling multiple payment methods.
