Casual Cashier – Cresta Store

About the role

Dis‑Chem is looking for a casual cashier to join the Cresta store in Randburg. You will be the first point of contact for customers at the checkout, ensuring a smooth and secure transaction experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process all sales transactions using the Dis‑Chem POS system, handling cash, cards, vouchers and loyalty cards.
• Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and follow SOPs for voids, price changes and cash drops.
• Provide excellent customer service, address queries, and manage returns and exchanges.
• Report complaints, compliments and any suspicious behaviour to the supervisor.
• Stay informed about current promotions and ensure compliance with security policies.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Minimum 6 months experience operating a cash register or till.
• Basic computer literacy and strong command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to work retail hours and reliable transport to the store.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Ability to operate POS/cash register systems accurately.
