About the role
The Caregiver provides direct patient support in a hospital setting, assisting with daily living activities, nutrition, and mobility while ensuring dignity and cultural sensitivity.
Key responsibilities
- Take handover reports from previous shifts and communicate patient information to the registered nurse.
- Assist patients with meals, feeding, fluid intake, and dietary monitoring.
- Support patients with personal hygiene, bathing, shaving, and dressing.
- Help patients with mobility, incontinence care, and use of assistive equipment.
- Conduct regular patient rounds, record observations, and report any changes.
- Participate in meetings, case conferences, and training as required.
- Maintain health and safety standards and perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience in the nursing field.
- Diploma in in‑home nursing registered with HW SETA.
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
- Ability to handle the nature of the work and be bilingual.
