Calypso Technical Developer

About the role

Discovery Bank is looking for a Calypso Technical Developer to design, build and maintain Calypso‑based solutions that support front‑to‑back trade flows across multiple asset classes. The role combines hands‑on development, technical design, and mentorship within a fast‑moving banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Calypso workflows, scheduled tasks and messaging components.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs that comply with Discovery Bank architecture standards.
• Write clean, defect‑free Java code and release it following best‑practice SDLC processes.
• Produce technical and functional documentation and facilitate peer reviews.
• Provide production support, resolve incidents and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Lead and mentor junior developers during code reviews.
• Participate in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with business analysts and users.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Calypso architecture and APIs.
• Proficiency in Java development and understanding of front‑to‑back trade flows.
• Ability to create technical designs and documentation that meet non‑functional requirements.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and conducting code reviews.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude toward production support.
