Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Stefanutti Stocks Coastal is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement requirements, ensuring timely delivery, cost‑effective pricing, and compliance with company policies and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with project, site, estimating, commercial, quality, finance and operational teams to understand procurement needs and risks before sourcing.
• Develop and execute project‑specific procurement plans that align with programme milestones, budgets, quality standards and contract conditions.
• Lead supplier sourcing, RFQ processes, quote analysis, adjudication and commercial negotiation to secure best value, including price, specification compliance and B‑BBEE status.
• Maintain market intelligence on construction materials, plant, subcontracted services, price movements and lead times to support informed decisions.
• Manage supplier, vendor and subcontractor relationships through performance monitoring, issue resolution and ongoing development.
• Provide accurate procurement reporting on savings, spend, supplier performance, delivery status and B‑BBEE participation.

Required profile

• CIPS qualification or equivalent procurement qualification (essential).
• 8 to 10 years of procurement experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• High level of integrity and accountability.
• Strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office.
• BuildSmart procurement system experience.
