Buyer – Manufacturing Procurement

About the role

Our manufacturing client in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage procurement activities across the organisation. The role focuses on sourcing, supplier management and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production.

Key responsibilities

• Determine buying and procurement requirements across all departments.
• Establish and negotiate supplier partnerships for price, volume and lead‑time optimisation.
• Collaborate with Production and QA to develop packaging that enhances product appeal.
• Handle requisitions, monitor stock levels and maintain up‑to‑date inventory records.
• Organise transportation, track shipments and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Maintain accurate process documentation in line with ISO standards.
• Create and process orders for multiple branches and upload supplier data to designated platforms.
• Resolve discrepancies in invoicing, quantities and pricing.

Required profile

• Certificate/Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field (advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing procurement.
• Experience with import logistics and international trade is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAGE X3.
• Advanced Excel skills.
