Business Operations Manager – Industrial Services

About the role

An established industrial and technical services business is seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to lead overall operational, financial, technical and people‑management functions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day business operations, coordinating workshop, technical, administrative and support functions.
• Provide strong financial and commercial oversight, monitoring revenue, costs, margins, budgets and profitability.
• Review operational performance, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead, develop and manage departmental managers, supervisors and operational teams, ensuring appropriate staffing and productivity.
• Control workshop planning, production/service activities, quality standards and turnaround times.
• Identify operational risks, ensure compliance with policies, quality standards and legislation, and maintain occupational health and safety focus.
• Manage relationships with key industrial customers, suppliers, contractors and service providers.
• Support business development, prepare operational and financial reports, and contribute to strategic planning.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical, mechanical, technical, engineering, trade or business management qualification (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years senior management experience in industrial, engineering, manufacturing or technical‑services environments.
• Proven experience managing medium‑sized workforces and multiple operational functions.
• Demonstrated financial and commercial management expertise, including budgeting and cost control.
• Experience with workshop/technical operations, quality management systems and ISO audits.
• Valid driver’s licence and computer literacy with standard business software.
