Business Intelligence Manager & Solutions Architect

About the role

Elanco, a global animal health company, is looking for a Business Intelligence Manager and Solutions Architect to join its Sales Enablement organisation and report to the Head of Sales Enablement. The role connects commercial strategy, data architecture and software engineering to modernise business intelligence and operational workflows, turning complex commercial data into governed data products, decision-ready insights and digital solutions for sales teams and executives. The position is based in Johannesburg or Centurion, South Africa, on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models integrating commercial, CRM, ERP and operational data sources.
• Establish data quality, validation, reconciliation, lineage, security and governance practices so that BI assets are reliable, auditable and controlled.
• Design and deploy interactive dashboards, analytics products and insights supporting sales management, territory planning, business reviews and executive decisions.
• Analyse commercial and operational processes and implement automated workflows and business applications using Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams and API integrations.
• Own BI and technical initiatives end to end, from stakeholder discovery and requirements through solution architecture, implementation, testing, prioritisation, documentation, training and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or honours degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or a closely related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Solutions Architecture or Technical Consulting.
• Proven track record designing, building and deploying enterprise-grade BI platforms and automated workflows from the ground up.
• Ability to define solution architectures, manage multiple workstreams and engage directly with departmental leaders and executive sponsors.

Required skills

• Data engineering, data modelling, process analysis and rapid prototyping.
• Preferred: Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams and API integrations.
• Preferred: experience delivering data-led solutions across industries, moving analytics from descriptive reporting to proactive or predictive insights, and partnering with IT teams, cloud architects and vendors.
