Business Development Manager

About the role

Join a globally recognised manufacturer of solar mounting systems and lead the expansion of the rooftop solar market across South Africa. You will be the trusted face of the business in your region, building relationships with installers, distributors, EPCs and renewable‑energy partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in the solar sector.
• Manage the full sales cycle from first contact to commercial close.
• Maintain an active pipeline using CRM tools and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Attend industry events and collaborate with technical and supply‑chain teams to deliver the right solutions.
• Travel regularly throughout the territory to meet prospects and customers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or external sales within renewable energy, electrical, construction or a related technical field.
• Existing relationships with solar installers, distributors, EPCs or developers are a strong advantage.
• Strong commercial awareness and a passion for winning new business.
• Technical or engineering qualification.
