Business Development Manager - Asset Management and IFA Distribution

About the role

The boutique asset manager seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to expand its network of independent financial advisers (IFAs) and generate sustainable new investment flows. This role focuses on asset‑management distribution rather than generic financial‑services sales.

Key responsibilities

• Build and grow a personal book of IFA relationships and convert them into new investment flows.
• Represent the firm’s investment philosophy, funds and solutions through meetings, presentations, roadshows and industry events.
• Own the end‑to‑end new‑business pipeline, including CRM updates, adviser onboarding, compliance and reporting.
• Collaborate with the investment team to keep advisers informed on fund positioning, performance and market developments.
• Provide advisers with investment information, presentations and client‑communication support.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in asset management, investment distribution, wealth management or a LISP environment.
• Previous role as Business Development Manager, Investment Specialist, Distribution Manager or similar.
• Own, active IFA network built independently of current employer.
• Proven record of generating net new investment flows or growing AUM.
• Working knowledge of investment markets, collective investment schemes, multi‑asset and offshore funds.

What we offer

• Basic salary of R60 000–R65 000 per month in year one.
• Transition to reduced base plus a percentage of management fees on introduced AUM from year two.
